一 新  約   之  下  所   有   事  奉，不  在   字 句 只 在      靈；

　 1. Not  of   let -ters, but  of   spir - it,  The New  Tes-ta-ment-al    way;

字  句   乃 是  將  人   殺  死，惟  有   靈  是  叫  人   生。

　    For  ’tis   life the  spir - it   giv - eth,  But the   let -ters  al-ways  slay.

外  面   作 的  全  都    不  算, 裡  面   作  的  纔  算   是；

　   Out-ward work God nev- er    reck-ons, But what’s from the  in-most  part;

不  是   按 著  舊   的   儀  文，乃  是   照  靈  新   樣   式。

It   is   not  to serve  in   let -  ter,  But life’s new-ness  to  im -  part.

二  不是僅藉外面教導，  2. Not just by the outward teachings,

乃靠裡面的恩膏；       But by His anointing moved;

不是僅藉外面樣式，     Not just by the outward pattern,

乃藉裡面的光照。       But by inward vision proved.

不是憑著人的規條，     Not by human rules or rituals,

乃憑屬天的管治；       But by heaven’s rule within;

不是照著人的決定，     Not by human-made decisions,

乃照神賜的啟示。       But by guidance giv’n of Him.

三  不是給人死的宗教，  3. Not a dead religion serving,

乃是供應活基督；       But in Christ as life to live;

不是傳遞虛空神學，     Not theology dispensing,

乃是活出主豐富。       But a living Christ to give.

不是道理、字句、知識,   Not the knowledge of mere doctrine,

乃是基督作信息；       But the message Christ should be;

不是恩賜、儀式、作法,   Not the gifts, the forms, the teachings,

乃是基督為實際。       But God’s Christ-reality.

四  不是客觀對神敬拜，  4. Not objectively to worship,

乃是主觀事奉神；       But to serve Him inwardly;

不是傳揚客觀基督，     Not to preach a Christ objective,

乃讓基督顯我身。       But Himself subjectively.

不是僅憑聖經作工，     Not just by the Scripture serving,

乃是藉靈和生命；       But in spirit and in life;

不是靠著肉體、自己,     Not by flesh, but by the Spirit

乃靠大能的聖靈。       Filling, freeing from all strife.
